Indications
Controlip Dual is indicated in the treatment of mixed dyslipidemias and primary hypercholesterolemia. This medication is used in patients who have not been able to control their blood lipid levels with diet and exercise alone. It is especially useful in cases where a reduction in LDL cholesterol, triglyceride levels, and an increase in HDL cholesterol are required. Fenofibrate acts by reducing triglycerides and cholesterol, while simvastatin decreases cholesterol production in the liver, helping to maintain a healthy lipid profile.
Composition
Each capsule of Controlip Dual contains 145 mg of fenofibrate and 20 mg of simvastatin. Additionally, it contains excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with active liver disease or with persistent elevations of transaminases. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as in patients with myopathy or previous rhabdomyolysis.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of muscle diseases, liver or kidney dysfunction. It is important to monitor liver enzyme levels and kidney function during treatment. Combination with other medications that may increase the risk of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis is not recommended.
