Indications
Continental 5 mg is indicated for the treatment of overactive bladder, which is manifested by symptoms such as urge urinary incontinence, increased urinary frequency, and nocturia. Solifenacin works by blocking muscarinic receptors in the bladder, which reduces involuntary contractions and improves bladder control. This medication is useful for patients experiencing these symptoms due to various conditions, including neurological conditions and functional bladder problems.
Composition
Each tablet contains 5 mg of solifenacin, as well as excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Continental is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to solifenacin or to any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with urinary retention, narrow-angle glaucoma, and myasthenia gravis. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic or renal disease.
Precautions
It is important to use caution when administering this medication to elderly patients, as well as those with a history of gastrointestinal or cardiac problems, or an increased risk of developing urinary retention.
