Indications

Concerta is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years. This medication is used to improve attention and decrease hyperactivity and impulsivity in patients diagnosed with ADHD. It may also be used in adults with ADHD symptoms when clinically justified.

Composition

Each Concerta tablet contains 36 mg of methylphenidate as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients such as lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, and other inactive components that facilitate product formulation.

Contraindications

Concerta is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to methylphenidate or any component of the formula. It should not be administered to individuals with a history of substance abuse, glaucoma, hypertension, severe anxiety, or a severe cardiac condition.

Precautions

Concerta should be used with caution in patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular disease, psychiatric conditions, or in patients susceptible to developing dependence. Regular monitoring of blood pressure and heart rate is important during treatment. Prolonged use may require periodic re-evaluation of the need to continue therapy.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
