Indications

Concerta is indicated for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults. This medication is used as part of a comprehensive treatment program that includes educational, psychological, and social measures. Methylphenidate, its active ingredient, acts on the central nervous system, helping to improve attention, concentration, and reduce impulsivity and hyperactivity in patients diagnosed with ADHD. It is important that treatment is carried out under the supervision of a physician, who will evaluate the patient's response and adjust the dose as needed.

Composition

Each Concerta tablet contains 27 mg of methylphenidate as methylphenidate hydrochloride, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Concerta is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to methylphenidate or any component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with glaucoma, a history of tics or Tourette's syndrome, as well as in those who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or have done so in the last two weeks.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular problems, hypertension, psychiatric disorders, and in those with a family history of substance abuse. Close monitoring is recommended in these cases, and treatment should be adjusted according to the patient's response and the appearance of adverse effects.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, in a dry place protected from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
