Indications
Conazol is indicated for the treatment of systemic and cutaneous fungal infections. It is effective in the treatment of oral, esophageal, and vaginal candidiasis; dermatophytosis, including athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It is also used in the treatment of candida and other susceptible fungal infections. This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, leading to its death.
Composition
Each Conazol tablet contains 200 mg of Ketoconazole and the excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Conazol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver disease or those taking certain medications that may interact with ketoconazole, such as potent CYP3A4 inhibitors.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of liver disease, as prolonged use may affect liver function. Similarly, care should be taken in patients with heart conditions or those being treated with medications that may increase the risk of arrhythmias. Patients should be monitored during treatment for potential adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
