Indications

Comirnaty is indicated for the prevention of SARS-CoV-2 disease, which causes COVID-19. It is indicated for adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older. Vaccination with Comirnaty helps reduce the incidence of severe COVID-19 and associated hospitalization. It is advisable to follow the approved vaccination schedule, which involves the administration of two doses, with a 21-day interval between each dose. The vaccine's efficacy has been demonstrated in clinical trials and post-marketing studies, showing a significant reduction in the risk of symptomatic and severe infection.

Composition

Each 0.3 ml dose of Comirnaty contains 30 µg of mRNA encoding the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. Additionally, it contains the following excipients: lipids (including ALC-0315, ALC-0159), salts (including sodium chloride), and other compounds that ensure the stability and efficacy of the product.

Contraindications

Comirnaty is contraindicated in individuals with a history of severe hypersensitivity to the vaccine components or to any component of the product. It is also contraindicated in individuals who have experienced anaphylaxis after a previous dose of the vaccine.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions, or in those with autoimmune diseases. Monitoring for 15 to 30 minutes after vaccination is recommended to detect immediate adverse reactions. Vaccination should be postponed in individuals with moderate or severe acute illness, with or without fever.

Storage

Comirnaty should be stored in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C. Do not freeze. The vaccine should be protected from light and used before the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
