Indications
Combivent Respimat is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma in patients requiring additional bronchodilator therapy. This medication combines two active ingredients, ipratropium, an anticholinergic, and salbutamol, a beta-2 adrenergic agonist, which act synergistically to provide rapid relief of respiratory symptoms. It is used to improve lung function and relieve dyspnea in patients with airflow obstruction.
Composition
Each ml of Combivent Respimat Spray contains 1.68 mg of ipratropium and 8.77 mg of salbutamol. Excipients include purified water, hydrochloric acid, and other components that facilitate the administration of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of tachyarrhythmias or severe heart conditions, as well as in those with uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of seizures, cardiovascular diseases, prostatic hyperplasia, or any condition that may be exacerbated by the use of anticholinergics or beta-agonists. Regular monitoring of clinical response and adverse effects is recommended.
