Indications
Combivent is indicated for the treatment of chronic obstructive respiratory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. This medication combines two fast-acting bronchodilators, ipratropium and salbutamol, which act synergistically to facilitate the opening of the airways, improving breathing. It is particularly useful in patients who require additional bronchodilator therapy or those who do not respond adequately to a single bronchodilator. Its use is recommended in episodes of respiratory distress and in the long-term management of these conditions.
Composition
Each ampoule of Combivent contains 0.5 mg of Ipratropium and 2.5 mg of Salbutamol, in addition to excipients that promote its efficacy and stability.
Contraindications
Combivent is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of severe cardiac arrhythmias and in patients who are being treated with other anticholinergic medications. Its use is not recommended in patients with acute asthma or severe asthma attacks.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, or in those with thyroid abnormalities. It is important to monitor patients who show an increase in the frequency of medication use, as this may indicate inadequate control of their underlying disease. Caution should also be exercised in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the product in its original packaging and out of the reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
