Indications

Co-Diovan is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. Combining two antihypertensive agents, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, achieves a synergistic effect that contributes to lowering blood pressure. This medication can be used in patients who have not achieved adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy. The combination of these two active ingredients allows for improved treatment adherence due to the reduction in the number of tablets the patient must take.

Composition

Each Co-Diovan tablet contains: 80 mg of Valsartan and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide.

Contraindications

Co-Diovan is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal failure, anuria, and in those who are being treated with aliskiren-containing medications, especially in patients with diabetes mellitus or renal failure.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renovascular hypertension, liver diseases, electrolyte imbalance, or in those undergoing dialysis. Additionally, it is recommended to periodically monitor blood pressure and renal function during treatment. In elderly patients, the dose should be adjusted according to the patient's clinical response and tolerance.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
