Indications
Co-Diovan is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, provides a synergistic effect that helps to effectively reduce blood pressure. In addition, it can be used in patients whose hypertension is not controlled with monotherapy. Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended during treatment.
Composition
Each Co-Diovan tablet contains 80 mg of Valsartan and 12.5 mg of Hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
Co-Diovan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with renin-angiotensin system inhibitors, as well as in patients with anuria or severe renal insufficiency. It should not be administered during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver, kidney, or heart disease, as well as in those with electrolyte imbalances. It is important to monitor blood potassium and creatinine levels during treatment. Dose adjustment is recommended in elderly patients and in those receiving concomitant treatment with other antihypertensives.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15°C and 30°C, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
