Indications
Co-Diovan is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension in adults. Specifically, it is used in patients who require blood pressure control that is not achieved with a single antihypertensive agent alone. The combination of valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, allows for a synergistic effect that improves blood pressure reduction. It can also be considered in the management of heart failure in patients who do not respond adequately to other treatments.
Composition
Each Co-Diovan tablet contains 160 mg of valsartan and 25 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valsartan, hydrochlorothiazide, or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal or hepatic impairment, as well as in those with anuria.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gout, diabetes, moderate kidney or liver disease. It is important to monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients on long-term treatment. Regular blood pressure assessment is also recommended during treatment.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
