Indications

Co-Diovan is indicated for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults. This medication combines two active ingredients: Valsartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic. The combination of these two drugs provides a synergistic effect that helps effectively lower blood pressure. It is indicated for patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy or who require combination therapy to reach their blood pressure goals.

Composition

Each Co-Diovan tablet contains:
Valsartan: 160 mg
Hydrochlorothiazide: 12.5 mg

Contraindications

Co-Diovan is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Valsartan, Hydrochlorothiazide, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, in those with severe renal impairment, and in pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with fluid and/or electrolyte depletion, especially in those with a history of vomiting, diarrhea, or dialysis. It is advisable to monitor electrolyte levels and kidney function during treatment. Co-Diovan may cause a decrease in blood pressure, so the patient's response should be evaluated at the start of treatment and the dose adjusted if necessary.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
