Indications

Clopsine (Clozapine) is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia resistant to other treatments and for reducing the risk of recurrence of episodes in patients with schizophreniform disorder. It is especially used in patients who have not responded adequately to other antipsychotics and who have a compromised level of functional performance. It may also be considered in the treatment of other psychiatric disorders according to the corresponding medical evaluation. It is essential that treatment with Clopsine be closely supervised by a healthcare professional due to its effects on the nervous system and the possible associated hematological complications.

Composition

Each Clopsine tablet contains 100 mg of clozapine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

Clopsine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clozapine or to any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of agranulocytosis or severe hematological disease. It is also contraindicated in patients with uncontrolled seizures and in those with significant damage to the cardiovascular or respiratory system.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with a history of seizures, liver disease, or cardiovascular disease. Regular monitoring of white blood cell counts is recommended due to the risk of agranulocytosis. It is also suggested to evaluate the patient's mental health status and adjust the dose as needed under the supervision of a treating physician.

Storage

Clopsine should be stored in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and out of the reach of children. It is recommended to check the expiration date before use.
