Indications
Clexane (enoxaparin) is indicated for the prevention and treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). It is used in patients who have undergone orthopedic surgery or who are at high risk of developing blood clots. It is also used to prevent thromboembolic complications in hospitalized patients due to acute illnesses. Furthermore, it is used in the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction, in combination with acetylsalicylic acid.
Composition
Each Clexane syringe contains 60 mg of enoxaparin sodium as the active ingredient, in addition to other excipients that facilitate its formulation and administration.
Contraindications
Clexane is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to enoxaparin or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with a history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia, as well as those with significant active bleeding or conditions predisposing to bleeding, such as certain bleeding disorders.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with coagulation disorders, uncontrolled hypertension, or those being treated with other anticoagulants. It is important to monitor renal function in elderly patients or those with renal insufficiency, and adjust the dose if necessary. Platelet count monitoring is recommended in patients who have previously received heparins.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
