Indications
Clauter (cilostazol) is indicated for the treatment of intermittent claudication in patients with peripheral artery disease. This condition is characterized by leg pain that occurs when walking and is relieved by rest. Cilostazol acts as a vasodilator and an antiplatelet agent, improving blood flow and reducing blood viscosity, which allows for greater oxygenation of the muscles during physical activity. Additionally, it may be useful in the treatment of other conditions related to blood circulation, under appropriate medical supervision.
Composition
Each Clauter tablet contains 100 mg of cilostazol as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that ensure the correct formulation and stability of the medication.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cilostazol or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with congestive heart failure or a history of severe hemorrhagic events. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under a doctor's orders.
Precautions
Caution is advised when administering Clauter to patients with a history of heart disease, arrhythmias, or epilepsy. It is important to monitor blood pressure in patients who are concomitantly using antihypertensive medications. Also, care should be taken in patients with liver or kidney diseases, as the elimination of the medication may be affected. The efficacy and safety of cilostazol have not been established in patients under 18 years of age.
