Indications

Potassium Citrate is indicated for the prevention and treatment of hypokalemia (low blood potassium levels), as well as for the correction of electrolyte imbalances. It is used in patients who experience significant potassium loss, for example, those undergoing diuretic treatment or who suffer from conditions that can cause a decrease in this mineral. Additionally, Potassium Citrate can be used as a dietary supplement for individuals who require additional potassium support to maintain proper muscle and heart function, as well as in some cases of kidney stones, where the goal is to reduce the formation of certain types of kidney stones.

Composition

Each capsule contains 500 mg of Potassium Citrate. Excipients: gelatin, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hyperkalemia (high blood potassium levels), severe renal insufficiency, and in those with an allergy to any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with heart disease or who are undergoing treatment with medications that may increase potassium levels.

Precautions

It is recommended to use Potassium Citrate under medical supervision, especially in patients with kidney or heart disease or those taking other medications that may affect potassium levels. It is important to monitor blood potassium levels during treatment. The recommended dose should not be exceeded, and adequate hydration should be maintained.

Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
