Indications
Citox is indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorders and anxiety disorders. Its use is suitable for patients with recurrent depressive episodes, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), social anxiety disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. Citalopram acts as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, contributing to the improvement of mood and reduction of anxiety in patients. It is important to note that treatment response may vary from patient to patient, and its use should be supervised by a physician.
Composition
Each Citox tablet contains 20 mg of citalopram in the form of citalopram benzenesulfonate. Additionally, it contains excipients such as corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, and magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Citox is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to citalopram or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients who are taking monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in those who have experienced serotonin syndrome. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of bipolar disorders, seizures, or severe liver diseases.
Precautions
It is recommended to carefully evaluate the patient's psychiatric status before starting treatment with Citox. It is essential to monitor for the emergence of suicidal ideation, especially in children and adolescents. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of substance abuse, as citalopram may cause dependence in some cases. During treatment, regular check-ups with the physician should be performed.

Store in a dry and cool place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
