Indications
Cicloferon Suspension is indicated for the treatment of viral infections caused by herpes simplex virus type 1 and type 2, as well as by varicella-zoster virus. It is effective in the treatment of oral and genital herpes, as well as cytomegalovirus infections. It is also used for the management of viral infections in immunocompromised patients, including those receiving oncological treatments or who have HIV/AIDS. Acyclovir acts by inhibiting viral DNA replication, which reduces the duration and severity of herpes outbreaks and helps accelerate the healing of lesions.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 200 mg of acyclovir. Excipients: purified water, hydroxyethylcellulose, flavoring, and other excipients.
Contraindications
Cicloferon Suspension is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to acyclovir or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease or in those with significant dehydration.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with impaired renal function, as this may increase the risk of toxicity. Adequate hydration is recommended during treatment to minimize the risk of nephrotoxicity. Likewise, the possibility of interactions with other medications the patient is taking should be considered, so a complete medical evaluation is suggested before starting treatment.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
