Indications
Cessabit (cyclobenzaprine) is indicated as a muscle relaxant for the treatment of acute musculoskeletal conditions, including muscle spasms and associated pain. This medication is used in the management of muscle tension resulting from injuries, sprains, or similar conditions. Cyclobenzaprine acts on the central nervous system, helping to relieve stiffness and improve patient mobility. Its use is recommended in conjunction with rest, physical therapy, and other non-pharmacological measures to obtain better results in symptom treatment.
Composition
Each Cessabit tablet contains 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication, ensuring its stability and effectiveness.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to cyclobenzaprine, in those with cardiac arrhythmias, as well as in patients with heart diseases that compromise cardiac function. The use of Cessabit is not recommended in combination with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases or with a history of substance abuse. Cessabit may cause drowsiness, so it is recommended to avoid activities that require full attention, such as driving or operating heavy machinery. Additionally, it is important to monitor elderly patients, who may be more susceptible to adverse effects.
