Indications

Ceporex Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to cephalexin. These infections may include, but are not limited to, the following: upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and endocarditis. This antibiotic is effective against a variety of Gram-positive bacteria and some Gram-negative bacteria, and its use is appropriate in children and adults under proper medical supervision.

Composition

Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Cephalexin monohydrate 250 mg, excipients: sugar, flavorings and preservatives.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalexin, other beta-lactam antibiotics, or any of the components of the formula. Likewise, its use should be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to penicillins or cephalosporins.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis, as well as in those with renal insufficiency. Appropriate monitoring is recommended in patients who experience adverse reactions. The administration of cephalexin can alter the results of some laboratory tests, so the doctor should be informed about its use before performing urine glucose tests and liver function tests.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from humidity and light. Keep out of reach of children.
