Indications
Celebrex is indicated for the treatment of acute pain, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and menstrual pain syndrome. It is also used in patients suffering from ankylosing spondylitis. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins, responsible for inflammation and pain. Furthermore, Celecoxib has been shown to be effective in reducing fever and relieving postoperative pain.
Composition
Each Celebrex capsule contains 200 mg of celecoxib as the active ingredient. Excipients are: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, talc, and gelatin.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other NSAIDs, as well as those with active peptic ulcer or inflammatory bowel disease. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency or severe liver disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, or those taking anticoagulants. It is advisable to monitor renal and hepatic function during prolonged treatment. Its use in pregnant or breastfeeding women is discouraged, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
