Indications

Ceftrex is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to ceftriaxone. This includes, but is not limited to, respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial meningitis, and sepsis. Ceftriaxone acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. It is particularly useful in infections caused by strains resistant to other antibiotics.

Composition

Each ampule contains: Ceftriaxone 1G, excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine.

Contraindications

Ceftrex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Ceftrex to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. Renal and hepatic function should also be monitored during treatment. In patients with renal insufficiency, the ceftriaxone dose may need to be adjusted. Additionally, liver function tests should be performed during prolonged treatments.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
