Indications

Ceftriaxone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is used in the management of respiratory tract infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in cases of sepsis. This medication is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, and is especially useful in the treatment of infections caused by organisms resistant to other antibiotics. It is also indicated in the treatment of bacterial meningitis, intra-abdominal infections, and community-acquired pneumonia. Its use must be determined by a physician, who will evaluate the patient's clinical condition and the susceptibility of the microorganism causing the infection.

Composition

Each ampule of Cefaxona Im 1G contains ceftriaxone sodium equivalent to 1 G of ceftriaxone.

Contraindications

The use of ceftriaxone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone, to other antibiotics of the same class, or to any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in cases of severe liver failure and in neonates requiring calcium treatment, as precipitation may occur in the circulation.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis, as well as in those with renal insufficiency. In case of allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately. It is important to adequately monitor patients receiving anticoagulants, as it may increase the risk of bleeding.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
