Indications
Cardomicin Infantil is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of dry and productive cough in children. This medication combines dropropizine, an antitussive that acts on the central nervous system to suppress cough, and bromhexine, a mucolytic that helps thin and clear bronchial secretions. It is useful in respiratory disorders where cough is a predominant symptom, such as common colds, bronchitis, and other respiratory infections. The combination of these two compounds allows for effective management of symptoms, facilitating breathing and improving the comfort of the pediatric patient.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Cardomicin Infantil Syrup contains: Dropropizine 150 mg and Bromhexine 80 mg.
Contraindications
Cardomicin Infantil is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in children under 2 years of age. Likewise, its use should be avoided in cases of uncontrolled bronchial asthma or in patients with severe obstructive pulmonary diseases, as cough suppression could retain mucous secretions.
Precautions
Cardomicin Infantil should be used with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, as well as in those with kidney or liver problems. It is important to evaluate the risk-benefit ratio in children with persistent cough, and to make an accurate diagnosis to avoid inappropriate use of the medication. If symptoms persist for more than 5 days, a doctor should be consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
