Indications
Carbotural is indicated for the treatment of acute intoxications, particularly those involving the ingestion of toxic substances or medications. Activated carbon acts as an adsorbent that prevents the gastrointestinal absorption of these substances into the body. Additionally, it is used in cases of acute non-specific diarrhea and as an adjuvant in drug overload treatments, contributing to the reduction of plasma levels of certain medications in overdose situations.
Composition
Each Carbotural tablet contains 250 mg of activated carbon as the active ingredient. Inactive ingredients: starch, talc, and other excipients suitable for tablet formulation.
Contraindications
Carbotural is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to activated carbon or any of the formula's components. It is also contraindicated in cases of acute intoxications with substances that decompose or are corrosive, as well as in situations of intestinal obstruction or gastrointestinal perforation.
Precautions
It is recommended to use Carbotural with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, as well as in those who have difficulty swallowing. It is important to evaluate the need for administration in situations of intoxication with corrosive products or hydrocarbons, where the use of activated carbon may not be advisable. The possibility of interaction with other medications should also be considered, so prior medical consultation is suggested.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
