Indications
Canesten V 200 mg Ovules are indicated for the treatment of vaginal yeast infections, specifically those caused by Candida species, such as Candida albicans. This medication is effective in relieving symptoms associated with these infections, which include itching, burning, and abnormal vaginal discharge. It can also be used as adjunctive treatment for non-specific vaginitis and for the prophylaxis of recurrent vaginal infections. A 3-day treatment is recommended to achieve fungal eradication and restore the balance of the vaginal flora.
Composition
Each ovule contains 200 mg of clotrimazole as the active ingredient. Additionally, it contains excipients that allow for the proper formulation of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clotrimazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be used in cases of vaginal infections requiring systemic treatment or in the presence of severe vaginal lesions.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and it should only be used under the supervision of a physician. It is important to inform the doctor about any other medications being used, as well as a history of recurrent vaginal diseases. If no improvement in symptoms is observed after 3 days of treatment, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
