Indications

Calutol (bicalutamide) is indicated for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It is used in combination with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog to improve treatment efficacy. In addition, it can be used as adjuvant treatment in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy or radiotherapy to reduce the risk of cancer recurrence. It is also indicated in patients with metastatic prostate cancer, to help control tumor growth and associated symptoms.

Composition

Each Calutol tablet contains 50 mg of bicalutamide as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that allow for the formulation of the medication.

Contraindications

Calutol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bicalutamide or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to women or children. Likewise, its use is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Calutol to patients with a history of liver diseases or impaired liver function. Liver function monitoring is recommended during treatment. In addition, the risk of adverse effects on the cardiovascular system should be considered in patients with a history of heart disease.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date printed on the package.
