Indications
Buscapina Compositum is indicated for the treatment of abdominal cramps, gastrointestinal spasms, biliary tract spasms, and urinary tract spasms. In addition, it may be useful in the management of pain associated with menstrual cramps. The combination of hyoscine, an antispasmodic, and metamizole, an analgesic, provides effective relief of painful and spasmodic symptoms. Its use is recommended under the supervision of a healthcare professional, who can determine the need and appropriate dose for each patient, considering their specific clinical condition.
Composition
Each ampoule of Buscapina Compositum contains: Hyoscine 20 mg and Metamizole 2.5 g in 5 ml of solution.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, in those with a history of severe allergic reactions to metamizole, as well as in cases of intestinal obstruction, ulcerative colitis, and inflammatory bowel disease. Its use is not recommended in patients with closed-angle glaucoma or in those with severe liver or kidney function problems.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disease, as well as in those who have health problems that may be affected by reduced intestinal peristalsis. Renal function should be monitored in patients requiring prolonged treatment with metamizole. The possibility of adverse reactions, including allergic reactions and gastrointestinal side effects, should also be considered.
