Indications
Buscopan is indicated for the treatment of painful spasms of the gastrointestinal tract and biliary tract. It is also used for the relief of renal and biliary colic, as well as in dysmenorrhea. Its antispasmodic action allows for the relaxation of smooth muscles, reducing pain and improving the patient's quality of life in conditions of abdominal discomfort. Additionally, it can be used in diagnostic procedures that require the relaxation of smooth muscle structures in the abdomen.
Composition
Each tablet contains: Hyoscine butylbromide 10 mg, excipients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Buscopan is contraindicated in patients with narrow-angle glaucoma, myasthenia gravis, prostatic hypertrophy, intestinal obstruction, and in those with known hypersensitivity to hyoscine or any component of the formula.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Buscopan to patients with cardiovascular diseases, as it may cause tachycardia. Care is also recommended in elderly patients or those with kidney or liver problems. In case of any adverse effects, treatment should be discontinued, and a doctor should be consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
