Indications
Brilinta (Ticagrelor) is indicated for the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which includes acute myocardial infarction and unstable angina. This medication works by inhibiting platelet aggregation, which helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications in these patients. Additionally, it can be used in patients who have undergone percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) to reduce the risk of adverse thrombosis-related events.
Composition
Each Brilinta tablet contains 90 mg of Ticagrelor as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
Brilinta is contraindicated in patients with a history of intracranial hemorrhage, significant active bleeding, known hypersensitivity to Ticagrelor or any of the product's excipients. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment and those consuming acetylsalicylic acid in doses greater than 100 mg.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of bleeding, renal insufficiency, and in those scheduled for surgical procedures. It is important to monitor patients for signs of bleeding and adjust the dose if necessary. Additionally, concomitant use of medications that increase the risk of bleeding, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and other anticoagulants, should be avoided.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
