Indications

Blopress Plus is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of candesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and hydrochlorothiazide, a thiazide diuretic, allows for effective blood pressure reduction, improving hypertension control. This formulation is especially useful in patients who require adequate blood pressure control and have intolerance or an inadequate response to antihypertensive monotherapy. It is suggested to consider the patient's profile when selecting Blopress Plus to optimize antihypertensive treatment.

Composition

Each Blopress Plus tablet contains 16 mg of candesartan cilexetil and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide as active ingredients. Excipients: lactose, corn starch, among others.

Contraindications

Blopress Plus is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatment with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor blockers. It is also contraindicated in patients with anuria or those who are being treated with potassium-sparing diuretics.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of renal insufficiency, liver disease, or conditions that may cause volume depletion. Regular monitoring of renal function and electrolytes is recommended, especially at the start of treatment. Likewise, concomitant use with other antihypertensive drugs should be evaluated, as they may potentiate its effects.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
