Indications

Blopress is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. This medication works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which helps lower blood pressure and, in turn, reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications. It can also be used in combination with other antihypertensives to improve blood pressure control in patients who do not achieve their goals with a single medication. Furthermore, its use has been indicated in heart failure in patients who cannot tolerate angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.

Composition

Each Blopress 16 mg tablet contains 16 mg of candesartan cilexetil as the active ingredient, as well as excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, and magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Blopress is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to candesartan or any of the product's excipients. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding patients, or to those with bilateral renal artery stenosis or stenosis in a single functional kidney.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Blopress to patients with a history of angioedema, renal insufficiency, or those undergoing diuretic treatment. It is important to monitor kidney function and blood electrolytes during treatment. This medication should not be used in conjunction with other medications containing aliskiren in diabetic patients or those with moderate to severe renal impairment.
