Indications
Blaxitec (bilastine) is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, both seasonal and perennial, such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, nasal itching, and nasal congestion. In addition, it is used in the management of chronic idiopathic urticaria, relieving itching and associated skin lesions. Bilastine acts as a selective antagonist of histamine H1 receptors, making it effective in reducing the effects of allergic reactions.
Composition
Each Blaxitec tablet contains 20 mg of bilastine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its formulation and stability.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bilastine or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in children under 12 years of age or in pregnant or breastfeeding women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Blaxitec to patients with renal insufficiency, as dose adjustment may be required. It is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption and other central nervous system depressants during treatment, as they may enhance the sedative effects of the medication. Patients are also advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery if they experience drowsiness.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
