Indications

Bisolsek Syrup is indicated for the temporary relief of dry, non-productive coughs, which may be caused by irritations in the throat and respiratory tract, as well as by colds and other respiratory conditions. Dextromethorphan, its active ingredient, acts as a cough suppressant by affecting the cough center in the brain, contributing to the reduction of the frequency and intensity of cough episodes. It is important to note that this medication is not intended to treat coughs associated with productive respiratory infections, as it may hinder the expulsion of bronchial secretions.

Composition

Each 100 ml of syrup contains: Dextromethorphan, 200 mg; excipients: sorbitol, xanthan gum, sweeteners, flavorings and purified water.

Contraindications

Bisolsek is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dextromethorphan or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be administered to patients with chronic respiratory diseases that present excessive mucus production or to those who are undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within 14 days after the discontinuation of such treatment.

Precautions

It is recommended to use with caution in patients with a history of substance abuse, as well as in those with liver or kidney diseases. The recommended dose should not be exceeded and it is important to follow medical instructions. If the cough persists for more than 7 days, a doctor should be consulted.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
