Indications
Bilina (Betahistine) is indicated for the treatment of disorders related to the vestibular system, including Ménière's syndrome, which is characterized by episodes of vertigo, tinnitus, and hearing loss. Betahistine works by improving blood flow in the inner ear, which can help reduce the frequency and severity of vertigo attacks. Additionally, it can be useful in preventing episodes, as well as in managing symptoms associated with non-specific vestibular disorders.
Composition
Each Bilina tablet contains 16 mg of Betahistine as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Bilina is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to betahistine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with pheochromocytoma, as it can cause a hypertensive crisis. Caution should be exercised in patients with active peptic ulcer.
Precautions
Before starting treatment, a complete medical evaluation should be performed. Caution is recommended in patients with a history of asthma, as it may trigger bronchoconstrictor reactions. Additionally, it is important to monitor patients with gastrointestinal disorders due to the possibility of adverse effects on the digestive system.
