Indications
Bicartial is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, provides a synergistic effect that helps reduce blood pressure. This combination can be used in patients who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy or as initial therapy in patients requiring more intensive treatment.
Composition
Each Bicartial capsule contains:
- Amlodipine: 5 mg
- Losartan: 100 mg
Contraindications
Bicartial is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered to patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with renal artery stenosis, severe hepatic or renal impairment. It is important to monitor renal function and electrolytes in patients treated with Bicartial, especially in those with conditions that predispose to dehydration. This medication may cause dizziness and drowsiness, so caution should be exercised when driving or performing activities that require mental alertness.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
