Indications
Bicartial is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension. The combination of amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker, and losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, offers an effective approach for blood pressure control in patients who have not achieved adequate control with monotherapy. Additionally, this medication may be useful for renal protection in hypertensive patients with type 2 diabetes or those with a high cardiovascular risk.
Composition
Each Bicartial capsule contains:
- Amlodipine: 2.5 mg
- Losartan: 50 mg
Contraindications
Bicartial is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with bilateral renal artery stenosis or in those with severe renal insufficiency. Its use is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
Regular blood pressure monitoring is important in patients being treated with Bicartial. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of angioedema or those with liver problems. It is recommended to evaluate renal function before and during treatment, especially in elderly patients or those with comorbidities.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
