Indications

Bicarnat is indicated for the treatment of metabolic acidosis, as well as for the correction of acid-base balance disturbances in conditions such as renal failure, severe diarrhea, and certain intoxications. This medication may also be used in hyperkalemia, as it helps to lower potassium levels in the blood. In addition, it is useful in the resuscitation of critically ill patients, providing support in the management of acidosis that can occur in various clinical conditions.

Composition

Each ampoule of Bicarnat contains 50 mL of 7.5% Sodium Bicarbonate solution, which is equivalent to 3.3 g of Sodium Bicarbonate.

Contraindications

Bicarnat is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Sodium Bicarbonate or any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in patients with respiratory or metabolic alkalosis, and in those with uncorrected hypocalcemia. Its use should be evaluated with caution in patients with severe cardiac or renal problems.

Precautions

It is important to monitor electrolyte levels in patients treated with Bicarnat, especially in those with impaired renal function. Caution should be exercised in patients with hypertension or heart disease, as excess bicarbonate can lead to fluid overload. Regular clinical follow-up is recommended during treatment.

Storage

Store at room temperature, in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
