Indications
Betnovate cream is indicated for the treatment of various inflammatory dermatological conditions responsive to corticosteroids. These include, among others, atopic dermatitis, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis, and other inflammatory skin conditions. Additionally, this medication can be used for the treatment of allergic skin reactions and insect bites, where an anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effect is required. Its use must be supervised by a healthcare professional to ensure its proper indication and duration of treatment.
Composition
Each 100 g of Betnovate cream contains 0.10 g of betamethasone (as betamethasone valerate). It also contains excipients such as purified water, liquid paraffin, and other components that facilitate the application and absorption of the medication into the skin.
Contraindications
Betnovate cream is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to betamethasone or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in viral skin infections, such as herpes simplex or chickenpox, and in tuberculous skin lesions or syphilitic processes. Its use on areas of the skin with deep lesions or burns should be avoided.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when using Betnovate on large areas of the skin or for prolonged treatments, as it may lead to systemic corticosteroid effects. It is important to avoid its use on the face, armpits, or intertriginous areas without a doctor's supervision. If signs of skin infection appear, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the product in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
