Indications
Benadrex Syrup is indicated for the treatment of symptoms associated with colds, allergies, and other respiratory conditions. This medication combines two active ingredients: diphenhydramine, which acts as an antihistamine, and dextromethorphan, an antitussive. Diphenhydramine helps relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as sneezing, itchy nose and eyes, and runny nose. On the other hand, dextromethorphan is effective in controlling dry cough, thus allowing for a better quality of life in patients with respiratory conditions. Benadrex Syrup is commonly used in the management of symptoms related to the common cold and flu.
Composition
Each 100 ml of Benadrex Syrup contains: Diphenhydramine 0.25 g and Dextromethorphan 0.30 g.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with chronic respiratory diseases, asthma, or pulmonary obstruction problems. It should not be administered to patients undergoing treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or those with a history of substance abuse.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, glaucoma, or urinary retention. It should not be administered to children under 2 years of age without medical supervision. It is important to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment, as it may potentiate the sedative effects of the medication. Likewise, caution should be exercised when operating machinery or driving, due to the possible sedation that diphenhydramine may cause.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
