Indications
Avodart is indicated for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in adult men. This medication works by reducing the size of the prostate, which helps to improve urinary symptoms that may be caused by the enlargement of this gland. Manifestations of BPH may include difficulty initiating urination, weak urinary stream, frequent urination, and a feeling of incomplete bladder emptying. Avodart can also be used to reduce the risk of developing acute urinary retention and the need for surgery related to BPH.
Composition
Each Avodart capsule contains 0.5 mg of Dutasteride as the active ingredient. Excipients include gelatin, glycerol, colorants, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Avodart is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Dutasteride or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in women or children. Additionally, those with a history of severe liver disease should avoid its use.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Avodart to patients with a history of liver disease or who are taking other medications that affect liver function. Furthermore, regular medical follow-up is important to assess response to treatment and any possible adverse effects. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant are advised to avoid contact with broken capsules or the contents of this medication, as Dutasteride can cause congenital abnormalities in male fetuses.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep in a dry place and away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
