Indications
Avapro (Irbesartan) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. This medication works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which helps to relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. It is also used in patients with type 2 diabetes and nephropathy, to slow the progression of kidney disease in people with hypertension and diabetes. Administration should be supervised by a healthcare professional and should be considered in the context of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes diet and exercise.
Composition
Each Avapro tablet contains 300 mg of Irbesartan as the active ingredient, as well as excipients necessary for the medication's formulation.
Contraindications
Avapro is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Irbesartan or to any of the excipients of the medication. It is also contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation, as well as in patients with severe hepatic dysfunction, bilateral renal artery stenosis, and in those receiving treatments with aliskiren-containing medications in diabetic patients.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of angioedema, renal or hepatic insufficiency, and in those taking diuretics, as it may increase the risk of hypotension. Blood pressure and kidney function monitoring is recommended during treatment. Care should also be taken in patients with hypovolemia or dehydration, and in those with cardiovascular diseases.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
