Indications
Avapro (Irbesartan) is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. This medication works by blocking angiotensin II receptors, which helps relax blood vessels and, consequently, lower blood pressure. In addition, it can also be used in patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy, with the aim of slowing the progression of kidney disease. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a doctor, who will determine the dose and duration of treatment according to each patient's condition.
Composition
Each Avapro tablet contains 150 mg of irbesartan and excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
This medication should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to irbesartan or to any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of angioedema related to previous treatments with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of kidney disease, dehydration, or those who are taking diuretics. Likewise, it is important to monitor kidney function and blood potassium levels during treatment. Concomitant use with other medications that may affect kidney function is recommended to be avoided.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
