Indications
Avamys is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children over 2 years of age. Symptoms may include nasal congestion, rhinorrhea, sneezing, and nasal itching. This medication acts as a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, providing symptomatic relief. It is important to consider the proper diagnosis before initiating treatment, as well as the possibility of combining it with other medications for the comprehensive management of respiratory conditions.
Composition
Each dose of nasal spray (1 spray) contains 27.5 mcg of fluticasone propionate, as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation of the product, ensuring its stability and efficacy.
Contraindications
Avamys is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluticasone or any of the excipients of the product. Its use is not recommended in patients with uncontrolled infections, as corticosteroids can suppress the immune response.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with systemic infections, active or inactive tuberculosis, and in those with a history of glaucoma or cataracts. It is advisable to evaluate adrenal function in patients who have received prolonged corticosteroid treatments. Excessive use of the medication should be avoided to reduce the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store at room temperature (between 15°C and 30°C). Keep away from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
