Indications
Avalide is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension in adults. The combination of irbesartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, allows for more effective blood pressure control in patients who do not achieve adequate control with monotherapy. This medication is useful in the prevention of cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension and associated risk factors.
Composition
Each Avalide tablet contains 300 mg of irbesartan and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide as active ingredients. Additionally, it contains excipients that allow for the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
Avalide is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, as well as in those with a history of angioedema associated with previous treatments with ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment or in those who are being treated with aliskiren-containing medications.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney disease, liver failure, or electrolyte imbalances. It is important to periodically monitor renal function and electrolyte levels during treatment. Its use is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation, unless the benefits outweigh the potential risks. Additionally, the possibility of adverse reactions in patients taking other antihypertensives should be considered.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
