Indications
Augmentin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to the action of its components. It is used in upper and lower respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, otitis media, and pneumonia. It is also effective in urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and in cases of dental infections. The combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate enhances the antibacterial effect, improving efficacy against beta-lactamase producing bacteria.
Composition
Each tablet contains 500 mg of amoxicillin and 125 mg of potassium clavulanate as clavulanic acid salt.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in cases of severe liver failure and in patients with a history of jaundice or liver dysfunction related to the use of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid.
Precautions
Use with caution in patients with a history of liver disease, ulcerative colitis, or a history of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. In case of severe allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately and medical attention sought. The doctor should be informed about any other medications being taken to avoid interactions.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
