Indications
Atro 1% Ofteno is indicated for pupil dilation in ophthalmological procedures and fundus examinations. It is also used in the treatment of certain eye conditions, such as ciliary muscle spasm (cycloplegia), which can be associated with hyperopia. Additionally, it is used in the management of certain eye inflammations and as part of therapy for eye pain management. Its anticholinergic action allows for the relaxation of the eye muscles, facilitating the evaluation and treatment of various ophthalmic pathologies.
Composition
Each ml of Atro 1% Ofteno contains: Atropine (10 mg), excipients q.s. for 1 ml.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to atropine or any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with angle-closure glaucoma or in those who present certain cardiac conditions, such as tachycardia or arrhythmias. Likewise, it should be avoided in cases of intestinal obstruction or in patients with urinary retention problems.
Precautions
Atro should be used with caution in elderly patients, as well as in those with a history of cardiovascular or respiratory diseases. It is important to monitor intraocular pressure in patients with a history of glaucoma. Atropine can cause side effects such as dry mouth, blurred vision, and drowsiness, so it is advisable to avoid activities that require clear vision or concentration after its use.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Keep the bottle tightly closed and away from direct light. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
