Indications
Atozet is indicated for the treatment of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia or mixed dyslipidemia, in combination with an appropriate diet. It is used in patients who do not achieve desired LDL-cholesterol levels through diet and adequate physical exercise. Additionally, Atozet may be prescribed as complementary therapy in patients with established cardiovascular disease to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events.
The combination of Ezetimibe and Atorvastatin allows for an effective reduction of LDL cholesterol and an improvement in the patient's lipid profile, helping to prevent cardiovascular complications associated with hypercholesterolemia.
Composition
Each Atozet tablet contains 10 mg of Ezetimibe and 20 mg of Atorvastatin.
Contraindications
Atozet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. It should not be used in patients with active or persistent liver disease, or in those with elevated transaminase levels. Furthermore, it is contraindicated in pregnant or lactating women, as well as in patients receiving treatments with certain medications that may interact adversely.
Precautions
It is recommended to periodically monitor lipid levels in patients treated with Atozet. It is important to monitor liver function, especially in patients with a history of liver disease or who present compatible symptoms. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with a history of muscle diseases, as there is a risk of myopathy and rhabdomyolysis.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in its original container and out of reach of children.
