Indications
Atemperator S is indicated for the treatment of seizure disorders, including epilepsy and epileptic seizures. It is also used in the management of mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder. Magnesium valproate has been shown to be effective in preventing manic episodes and stabilizing mood. Additionally, it is useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of migraines. Its use must be evaluated and supervised by a qualified physician, who will determine the appropriate dose and duration of treatment, considering the patient's clinical condition.
Composition
Each 100 mL of suspension contains: Magnesium Valproate 4 g, excipients: purified water, flavorings, and other inactive ingredients.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valproate or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe liver disease, mitochondrial disorders, or a history of acute pancreatitis related to valproate use. Likewise, it should be avoided in pregnant women, unless strictly necessary and under medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with a history of hematological disorders, liver or kidney disease, or those taking other anticonvulsant medications. Regular monitoring of blood valproate levels and liver function is important during treatment. Women of childbearing age should consider effective contraceptive methods during treatment due to the risk of teratogenicity.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
