Indications
Atemperator (magnesium valproate) is indicated for the treatment of seizure disorders, including epilepsy and epileptic seizures. It is also used in the treatment of mood disorders, such as bipolar disorder, and may be effective in the prevention of manic episodes. Its mechanism of action involves stabilizing electrical activity in the brain, which helps control seizures and improve mood in patients with affective disorders.
Composition
Each tablet contains 200 mg of magnesium valproate as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.
Contraindications
Atemperator is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to valproate or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases, urea cycle disorders, or those who have had previous pancreatitis. Caution should also be exercised in pregnant or breastfeeding women, due to potential risks to the fetus or infant.
Precautions
Care should be taken when administering Atemperator to patients with a history of hematological disorders, kidney diseases, or central nervous system disorders. Regular monitoring of blood valproate levels, as well as liver and kidney function, is important to avoid serious adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from direct light and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
